Time in Space

Updated: Jun 8, 2020

Einstein's Relativity Theory explains that gravity and matter distorts time. Science has proven this many times. So the further you get away from earth's surface the faster clocks will run. So while your on the same time table and since there is gravity you might have a clock at the on the ground that has one time and a clock located on the Empire State building at the top that runs faster even though they were set with the exact time. Now there is no gravity in space so what does that do to time? Is there no such thing as time in space? Is time just a measurement for earth only? We know that time from our GPS satellite actually runs faster then our clocks on earth. So if your traveling at the speed of light actually time has sped up the further from earth you travel. So even though you've only been gone five years, time has sped up out in space. There are still lots of studies going on from top science institutes. I'm sure that more studies will give us more data.

It would be possible if we could make a spaceship that could go at the speed of light. The other thing if we were going that fast would even the smallest dust particles be like hitting a solid wall tearing the spacecraft to shreds. I hope that science can figure that all out. We can however take like the space shuttle and if we went two years out and two years getting back at the speed of light I think if I remember right that earth would have aged 20 years while the trip would have only taken 4 years that just blows my mind. There are also like time Zones based on our earthly time table, like we have here on earth. Pacific, mountain, central, eastern time zones. Space has them also but I've not read if they are named.
