What church history reveals is a error in many doctrines. I recently studied church history and I’m finding out some very interesting facts as to many doctrines found through out are nation. What is surprising is when they where introduced into the church. My attempt here is not to make people mad, but to reveal truth. We all want to know the truth when it comes to our faith. It would be sad to go through all of life and stand before the throne of God having a sincere heart as to what you believe and have him declare “ away from me I never knew you.” So I felt that out of love for you I should write this brief history lesson. My attempt is to correct in love and I hope you will take it as such. It saddens my heart that many are being deceived by these false doctrines. These doctrines being taught were not even apart of the original teaching of the church. I want you to understand that men introduced these doctrines into their bible teaching. They did so by taking scripture out of context. 1. “Faith only” became doctrine in 400 A.D. about 350 years after the New Testament was written. 2. Once saved, always saved also introduced in 400 A.D. 3. Premillennialism introduced as church doctrine in 135 A.D. 4. The sinners prayer didn’t even become doctrine until 1956 when it was voted into the church.
History always reveals the errors of men, but it also brings to light the truth. What are you going to do with this new information? I hope you will join us here at Highland Christian Church for the preaching of the gospel.
