Restoration is better than reformation

I love Old cars and have a passion to go to car shows and Street Machine events. What I really love is old cars that have been restored back to their original glory. But there is also cars that have been reformed (modified). They look sharp and they sound loud. They’re made to go fast and they ride like a new car. But it’s not the original. We have the same problem in our churches. We had the original gospel in the early church. The Roman Catholic church came along and bent it out of shape. Then we had men who came along and said the Roman Catholic Church has it wrong we need to bring reformation back to the word of God. They Reformed it to teach a Faith only doctrine. Then in the 1800’s we had men who said “we just need to get back to the scriptures.” They left the Creeds of their churches and went back to preaching the scriptures only. They went back to the original teaching (restoration) of Gods word. Why go back to the original? The original is what makes it the real thing. When it comes to the scriptures I want the original because the original has the truth. Reform may look nice, and make a lot of noise that sounds good. But it’s not the real deal.
